The World Pet Association published a great article detailing how pumpkin is beneficial for your pet…

Is Pumpkin Actually Good for Dogs?

Pumpkin is a great source of nutrition for dogs. It is a perfect blend of soluble and insoluble fiber which works to slow down digestion. This slowing-down process increases the feeling of fullness and also increases moisture in the digestion tract to assist nutritient absorption.

While pumpkin is high in fiber, it’s ultra-low on calories and fat, making it a great ingredient for pet food and treat manufacturers to include in their products. The fiber in pumpkin is a pre-biotic fiber which creates conditions for beneficial microflora growth in the lower GI tract. It’s also an excellent source of many vitamins including A, C, and E and a great source of potassium.
